The Walk Against Hunger

June 2014

By Christine S. Anderson:

This is our first posting to the blog since Ruth's December article. Alyssa and I are getting used to a new normal without Ruth. Below is a posting by Ruth's husband, Erik. The photo shows Erik and Ruth's son, Gerard Murphy, accepting a trophy at this year's Walk Against Hunger. We will have the Walk Against Hunger trophy on display. Check it out when you are next in the office.

By Erik Tolf:

Ruth and I usually participated in the Walk Against Hunger to help raise money for New Horizons for New Hampshire which operates an adult homeless shelter, a soup kitchen, food pantry, and operates Angie's Shelter for Women. This year to honor Ruth's memory, family members joined me to form Team Ruth to walk for her. Other family members donated money in the team's name. We were honored to win the trophy in the family team category. It means a lot to me and I know it would have meant a lot to Ruth.
